Water Network is an intelligent, internet based contact tool developed in 2007 in the Netherlands. The tool was developed by Arjen Schat of the company Streamedge; the design was developed by Aris Houwing.
Water Network was developed because the initiators found it difficult to keep up their growing professional network and found out that others had similar problems. Other, existing internet based networks were considered not specific enough to function well for water professionals so it was decided to develop a more specialized tool.
The bigger story behind the development of Water Network is that we think that it can contribute to the Millennium goals and solve several severe water problems, like a lack of sanitation and drinking water by connecting water specialists world wide.
